AURA Band

Technical Highlights

• Architected and built the iOS companion app from scratch for the AURA Band wearable — a bioimpedance-based body composition and hydration tracker — with >80% unit test coverage and >50% UI test coverage from day one.
• Engineered the Bluetooth Low Energy communication stack between the band and the app: device pairing, real-time data transmission, firmware updates, battery monitoring and error-resilient syncing — all of it critical to measurement accuracy.
• Delivered the Apple Watch companion app with deep HealthKit integration, syncing activity, heart rate and custom body metrics (fat, muscle, hydration) on-device.
• Led iOS through the CES 2019 launch — shipping rapid OTA updates and resolving live issues on the show floor to keep demos running, contributing directly to a successful unveiling and early traction in a competitive wearable market.
• Mentored developers and established code review and testing practices in a fast-moving startup team, scaling the team’s output while keeping the architecture clean and testable under tight deadlines.
